4 tbsp butter (regular or Earth Balance)
10 oz. mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies (or use a gluten-free brand like malt o’ meal)
4 oz. package cherry jello
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 tbsp shortening
Instructions
Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat until melted.
Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Stir in cherry jello powder until fully combined.
Remove from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal.
With clean, greased hands, press the mixture gently into a rimmed baking sheet to form an even layer.
While the treats are cooling, melt the chocolate chips with the shortening in the microwave for 1 minute.
Stir until smooth and creamy, heating in 15-second increments if needed.
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled cherry Rice Krispies treats.
Notes
