Ingredients
Scale
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 to 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1–2 tablespoons milk (optional, for desired consistency)
Instructions
Prepare your mixing bowl and paddles of an electric mixer.
In a large bowl, mix the softened butter and creamy peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until the frosting is smooth and well combined.
If the frosting is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk and mix again until light and fluffy.
Taste the frosting and adjust sweetness or flavor as needed. Add a pinch of sea salt or a bit more sugar, if desired.
Use immediately to spread or pipe onto cakes, cupcakes, or other desserts.
Notes
Use creamy peanut butter for the smoothest consistency. Natural peanut butter may separate and create a grainy texture.
Adjust the powdered sugar and milk to achieve your preferred sweetness and texture.
This frosting pairs well with chocolate, banana, or vanilla cakes and cupcakes.
Can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Let it come to room temperature before using.
Whip the frosting again after refrigerating to restore its fluffiness.
